Elon Musk is in the midst of a sexual harassment scandal that he denies and blames on a political fight. To counter the allegations made by a SpaceX flight attendant in 2016, he is pointing out the Democratic Party, claiming they set up the scandal to weaken his position.
While the social media engaged in a heavy debate and the public opinion was divided, Greg Abbott tweeted “Musk picked the right state” -The new headquarters of Twitter´s company is supposed to move to Lone Star Texas- This quote was translated as a sign of support, although it didn’t last long, the Texas Governor deleted the tweet seven minutes later.
The scandal began when Business Insider exposed the sexual harassment case in a feature last week. The reporters presented evidence of the settlement of $250,000 SpaceX paid in 2018 to silence the allegations.
The Flight attendant’s complaint said that Elon Musk exposed himself during the flight, rubbed her leg without consent, and proposed to get her a horse in exchange for an “erotical massage”.
Ever since the feature went out, Elon Musk has tweeted non-stop about it, although many of these tweets were deleted. In one of these tweets, Musk said he had voted for the Democratic Party before but he will never support a party of “division and hate” again, according to The Dallas Morning News.
To this particular tweet, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott responded “Elon Musk picked the right state to move to”. After seven minutes, Abbott deleted the tweet and never acknowledged its existence.
The governor was referring to a proposal he made on Twitter to Elon Musk, in which he encouraged him to move Twitter´s headquarters from San Francisco to Lone Star, Texas.
