Dem Responses to DC Violence: Impeachment and Calls for Resignation

In response to the attempted insurrection at the Capitol Building on Wednesday, Democratic leaders are calling for consequences.

Speaker Pelosi recently called for invoking the 25th amendment which would remove Trump from power, and Rep. Castro among others have called for the resignation of Sen. Ted Cruz for his role in drumming up activism that led to the assault on the Capitol.

Sen. Chuck Schumer has said, “If the vice president and the Cabinet refuse to stand up, Congress should reconvene to impeach the president.”

Four Texas Democrats have called for Trump’s impeachment: Reps. Escobar, Doggett, Gonzalez, and Al Green.
