Governor Greg Abbott’s Plan To Reduce Migration Backfires

“We need a governor who will prioritize Texas’s economy over costly stunts,” said Beto O’Rourke after the Texas Governor’s actions yielded unexpected consequences.

Texas has lost the trade rail link with México worth billions in consequence of Greg’s Abbott political decisions.

A few weeks ago, the Texas governor set extraordinary inspections on the border with México. 4,100 trade trucks were inspected, which led to a delay of 32 hours.

After a lot of traffic and retention, Abbott reunited with four Mexican governors to make individual deals to remedy the situation. Finally, the Texas governor released the inspections in exchange for more policemen on the Mexican border and vigilance. Once these trades were settled, the traffic started to advance.

The secretary of Foreign Policy of México, Marcelo Ebrard, called the agreements an extortion. And on March 2, the “plan” to avoid migration backfired: The Mexican Economics Minister, Tatiana Clouthier, revealed that the train route that was supposed to cross Texas will be passing by New Mexico instead.

“We can’t leave all the eggs in one basket and be hostages to someone who wants to use trade as a political tool.” said the Economy Minister.

Beto O’Rourke also posted a tweet that says  “Anyone else tired of paying the price for Abbott’s incompetence?”
