International superstar Taylor Swift surprised fans by attending as a guest artist at HAIM’s concert in London last night.
Fans went crazy over Swift’s appearance during the concert at O2 Arena in London, giving a rendition of their collaborative track Gasoline and a mashup with her own song, Love Story.
“I haven’t been on stage in a very long time. It’s nice…it’s nice, it’s very nice [to be back]. When I heard my girls were playing in London at the O2, I thought, I’m going to have to see that. And it looks like there’s about 20,000 other people who also thought that”, the artist said to the crowd after stepping onto the stage.
The HAIM sisters and Swift have had a strong friendship over the years and they have collaborated on multiple occasions. They opened for her 1989 world tour back in 2014 and were also featured in her latest album “evermore”, with the song No Body No Crime.
“So we had a thought. If we were to do some sort of mash-up, we could possibly maybe get you to sing the loudest you have sung all night – which is a big challenge because you have been singing very loudly – extraordinary work.”
The surprise was a huge success. Taylor Swift has been very picky in recent years regarding when she is seen in public. Her appearances are scarce and always very calculated, from disappearing from the public eye for nearly two years after the scandal with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.
Her first appearance in 2022 was back in May, when she attended the class of NYU’s graduation ceremony to receive her honorary doctorate degree. So for her to suddenly appear at a concert was very much unexpected and well received by fans.
