It has been a rough couple of months for Democrats in Texas. After successfully stopping Gov. Abbott’s voting restriction bill with a massive walkout by Democrats in the House, they are now facing yet another huge challenge to stop the same bill from passing in a special legislative session.
In order to stop that bill, this time Democrats had to flee to Washington, D.C. and are now holding on to that position, denying Mr. Abbott the quorum he needs to restrict voting rights all across Texas.
In the same spirit of the pursuit of democracy and criticizing the GOP’s position on voting rights, the Texas Democrats trolled the Republican stance on the matter, by commenting on a tweet by ESPN:
The tweet aims to point out how difficult it has become to vote in Texas after all the restrictions passed by the GOP in the last decades.
