Texans “Toro” Wins Mascot of the Year

The Houston Texans are starting to score small victories this season. TORO, their mascot, has been awarded the NFL Mascot of the Year for 2021. Each year, at the NFL Mascot Summit, all 26 NFL mascots vote for the NFL mascot who has had the most overall success.

The Texans will honor TORO with a 2021 NFL Mascot of the Year patch on his jersey throughout the entire season, as well as a celebration during the Kids Day game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, October 31, 2021.

TORO has been the official mascot of the Houston Texans since April 23, 2001, and this season marks his 20th season with the franchise. He is well renowned for his high-flying feats, amusing antics, and ability to generate the Home Field Advantage during Texans home games at NRG Stadium.

TORO is not only an amazing mascot (the best in the NFL), he is also a great citizen. TORO’s has a goal of making a substantial impact on the Houston community during the 355 days of the year that aren’t Gameday and he does it through his elementary school programs, visits to Texans community partners, and more.
