Texans are Among the Least Kind Americans, a New Study Found

In a new study, commissioned by Verizon Wireless, Texas ranked 42 among all States as one of the least nice.

The study, conducted by Kindness.org, a non-profit organization “whose mission is to educate and inspire people to choose kindness, surveyed thousands of people from all 50 states and from all walks of life on what kind acts they would do. The results for Texas ranked among the worst.

The study asked people multiple questions, like if they would “Become an organ donor for a family member,” or if they would “Pull a stranger from a burning car,” or “Adopt and raise a family member.”

According to Dr. Oliver Scott Curry, research director for Kindness.org, the study revealed a surprisingly high capacity for kindness across America. Kentucky, New Mexico, and Oklahoma are the top three States in Kindness overall.

The word “Texas”  comes from the Caddo Native American word for “friends”, although Texas only ranked kinder only above Michigan, Nevada, Massachusetts, Oregon, Florida, Arizona, Kansas, and Maryland.
