Abortion Rights Rally Face Supreme Court Justice At His Home

“Not your incubator” “Keep your policies out of my body” “Keep abortion legal and Safe”. These are some of the consignments wroten in the banners that were scrubbed in front of the house of Supreme Court judge Brett Kavanaugh, last Saturday.

On March 7, approximately 5,000 Texans gathered at the Discovery Green in Houston to start a rally for abortion rights. A few hours later, groups of protesters did the same thing, but outside of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s house in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Brett Kavanaugh is one of the six conservative-leaning justices on the Supreme Court. Since his nomination by Donald Trump in 2018, Kavanaugh has caused controversy, he  faced allegations of sexual misconduct when he was a university student

For the first time in decades, the liberals-leaning justices are fewer than the conservatives: only three. And not many people think that the possible overturn of the Roe vs. Wade precedent has nothing to do with these justices making decisions.

Last week a draft was leaked by Politico that showed the majority of the Supreme Court in favor of overturning the Roe vs. Wade precedent. A week later, abortion rights protesters decided to pay a visit to the justice’s house and spoil his quiet afternoon.

The march continued to Chief justice John Robert´s home, some blocks away. Meanwhile, protesters were chanting “The whole world is watching”.

The next stop was Justice Alito´s house, another conservative-leaning Justice that will closely face the anger and impotence of the people. Shut down D. C. posted the call on its Twitter page: “Justice Alito thinks he can take away our rights. But our rights are fundamentally ours. We’re showing up to tell him in person.”  ShutDownDC (@ShutDown_DC) / Twitter
