Texas Airforce Veteran Arrested For Storming Capitol Building

After hundreds of Trump sympathizers stormed the Capitol last week, the FBI has been working on identifying and arresting those who violently rioted. A man from North Texas was arrested this last Sunday.

Larry Rendall Brock Jr, 53, surrendered himself to FBI agents at his local police Department in Grapevine, TX. He was charged with knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building and violent entry and disorderly conduct.

Acting U.S. Attorney Prerak Shah, the top federal prosecutor in Dallas, tweeted on Sunday: “Wednesday’s #CapitolRiots were a disgrace. Forcibly storming a government building is a shocking betrayal of the rule of law. The Northern District of Texas is proud to partner with the District of DC to hold Larry Brock accountable for his actions.”

The arrest affidavit cites his ex-wife as one of those who contacted the FBI to identify him. “I just know that when I saw this was happening, I was afraid he would be there. I think you already know he was there. It is such a good picture and I recognize his patch,” the affidavit reads.

The Grapevine native wore a green helmet, Texas-themed logos, and other military symbols in many of the photos of the insurrectionists. He is an Air Force Academy graduate and has served in combat. He reportedly told the New Yorker he wore the military gear because he didn’t want to get stabbed or hurt. “I know it looks menacing,” he said, “that was not my intent.”
