The richest resident of Texas, who also happens to be the richest person in the world, is Elon Musk. Who was not born in Texas but moved into the state a couple of years ago to heavily invest in Texas, specially in the SpaceX programs that have launched rockets from the Gulf of Mexico.
Behind Musk, there is Alice Walton, the Wal-Mart heir and a Fort Worth resident and Jerry Jones, the Cowboys owner and a Dallas resident. Other prominent figures that appeared on the list are Autry Stephens, an oil tycoon from Midland; Joe Gebbia, a resident of Autin and the founder of Airbnb; and Charles and Eleanor Butt, board members of H-E-B and residents of Austin.
The top five of the richests persons in America did not change that much from last year’s. Elon Musk is the first, outpassing Jeff Bezos, who is the second, followed by Bill Gates, Larry Elison and Warren Buffet.
