If Needed, TCU Would Host the New Orleans Saints in Aftermath of Hurricane Ida

Hurricane Ida slammed Louisiana. More than 1 million residents were left without power in one of America’s most severe hurricanes since Katrina struck in 2005. 

The situation is bad, there are likely to be extensive power disruptions for weeks, as well as a time of extreme heat, endangering millions of residents all over the Pelican State. 

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for southern Louisiana and Mississippi. The alert affects almost 2 million people in the area. 

At the same time, Football Season is about to begin. The New Orleans Saints are set to receive on September 12th the Green Bay Packers. But without power, the game is at risk. However, the good heart of Texans shines in this type of situation as Texas Christian University offered to open its doors to the New Orleans Saints if needed.

Coach Patterson commented this: “We’ve talked to them about it. I hope they come over here,” he said during his weekly news conference on Tuesday. “They do most of their practicing in the morning. They’re done by usually 2 p.m. We don’t start until 2 p.m. It’s really an easy fit as far as weight room, practice facilities, all of those kinds of things.”

The decision is left up to the Saints administration, but TCU is willing to receive one of the NFL’s most promising teams. 

TCU’s season starts this week against Duquesne on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
