Ted and Heidi Cruz, Less Than Thrilled About Leaked Chat Screenshots

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz seems to be taking an apology press tour after being forced to come back from Cancun once people reacted poorly to his impromptu vacation, where he abandoned Texas during a freezing, powerless crisis last week.

At first, the GOP Senator tried to explain himself by saying he was only trying to be a “good dad”, stating that he was dropping off their teenage kids and coming back the next day.

His already not-so-credible excuse was quickly debunked after a series of screenshots surfaced, where his wife, Heidi Cruz was inviting his neighbors to come along on an instant message platform. He later admitted he had planned to stay the whole weekend all along. “’It was obviously a mistake,” he said.

When asked about how his wife felt about the whole situation Cruz revealed she wasn’t happy at all. “I will say Heidi’s pretty pissed at that,” he said at a popular conservative political podcast, Ruthless. “It’s a sign of how ridiculously politicized and nasty and just … Just treat each other as human beings, have some degree, some modicum of respect.”

Although the Senator’s actions are not in any way illegal or against any rules, his lack of empathy during such a difficult time for his constituents was widely criticized, even by some of his party members. Popular night show Saturday Night Live even made a couple of sketches mocking the situation and the ridiculous excuses Ted Cruz used to try and get out of it.
