The candidates of the Texas gubernatorial race will meet in their first (and only) face-to-face clash this friday. The debate is scheduled for 7 p.m and will be hosted by Nexstar Media Group at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
The debate will air on local Nexstar television stations serving 14 markets across Texas, including KDAF-TV in Dallas/Ft. Worth, KIAH-TV in Houston, KTSM-TV in El Paso, KMID-TV in Midland/Odessa, KAMC-TV in Lubbock, KAMR-TV in Amarillo, KSAN-TV in San Angelo, KRBC-TV in Abilene, KFDX-TV in Wichita Falls, KETK-TV in Tyler/Longview, KWKT-TV in Waco/Temple/Bryan, KXAN-TV in Austin, KTAL-TV in Texarkana, and KVEO-TV in Harlingen/Weslaco/Brownsville/McAllen.
Nexstar Media criteria to determine which candidates are eligible to participate in a debate, includes a requirement that a candidate must receive at least 10% support in a poll leading up to the election and that a candidate also must have raised at least $50,000 in campaign contributions to be eligible.
