Beto Targets Abbott’s Antiabortion Positions With a New Ad

Antiabortion laws in Texas have been at the center of the debate during this year’s election. Although some GOP candidates have expressed moderate positions regarding the issue, the general position of the Texas Republican Party is generally related to the pro-life movement. In that context, the latest Beto ad targets Abbott on his positions on abortion.

The short video, which lasts 60 seconds, tells the story of Amanda, a woman that was pregnant at 18 weeks when her water broke and she was sent to the hospital but the doctor couldn’t do anything because of the antiabortion laws in Texas. Amanda became very sick and her life was in danger. “I became so sick that I developed sepsis. It was a direct result of the restrictive abortion laws in Texas, Amanda said. I should not stand by my dying wife while Greg Abbott does nothing”, the husband of Amanda issued.

Amanda later endorsed Beto O’Rourke as the right candidate because she says he will protect the autonomy and the rights of women.
