Dan Rodimer set to fight for Texas 6th Congressional Seat

Former professional wrestler Dan Rodimer has announced he’s running for Texas’ 6th Congressional District. The vacant seat belonged to the late Ron Wright, who passed away from COVID-19 complications this last February.

Rodimer is an attorney and businessman who currently resides in Las Vegas but is making a move to Texas, along with his wife and 6 children, “Everything’s bigger in Texas–and you can see the size of me. I’m running because we need to fight to keep our constitutional right-friendly states,” Rodimer told the Texas Tribune, “We need fighters in Texas, and that’s what I’m coming here for.”

The 42-year-old Republican has previously lived in Texas, he worked in Houston as a homebuilder and used to have a house in Galveston.

“Texas has always felt like home to me. I loved living in Las Vegas, Nevada with my wife and family, but I felt that now is the time to come back to where my heart is and fight for our country. The other people in this race won’t stand up to Nancy Pelosi in Congress. I will.” he said.

The special election will take place on May 1st and it already has a lot of contenders in the republican party who are interested in winning the coveted seat. Some of the other interesting profiles running include the late Ron Wright’s widow, activist Susan Wright, and freshman state Rep. Jake Ellzey.
