Chip Roy Sends Letter to Pelosi Asking AOC to Apologize for Tweets

U.S. Rep. Chip Roy is demanding an apology from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after she accused Sen. Ted Cruz of “almost having her murdered” on Twitter.

The Texan Congressman sent out a letter to Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, to exhort Ocasio-Cortez to retract her comments, or he, and other Republicans, “will be forced to find alternative means to condemn this regrettable statement.”

“It has come to my attention that Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sent out a tweet a few hours ago in which she accused Senator Ted Cruz, in essence, of attempted murder,” Roy wrote. “As a member of this body who disagreed with ‘objections’ to the electors and who has expressed publicly my concerns about the events leading to January 6th, it is completely unacceptable behavior for a Member of Congress to make this kind of scurrilous charge against another member in the House or Senate for simply engaging in speech and debate regarding electors as they interpreted the Constitution.”

AOC had some severe words for Senator Cruz after he attempted to join forces with her on Twitter. Last Friday, the NY Representative sent out a tweet regarding the Robin Hood App’s decision to block retail investors from purchasing stocks, to which Cruz responded “Fully agree.”  She was far from thrilled with the Senator’s response and quickly answered back, stating that if he wanted to help he should resign.

There were other Republican representatives accusing AOC of spreading partisan anger and hate, to which she replied that the nation can’t move on until people take responsibility and face consequences for their actions.

Last night she took to her Instagram account to post a detailed recount of her experience during the Capitol attacks. She mentioned she heard the rioters specifically looking for her while she was hiding in her office’s bathroom. “I’m not going to let it happen to me again…and I’m not going to let it happen to our country,” AOC said.
