The lone star state is fighting back against the GOP’s attempt to restrict voting rights. In the midst of one of the most chaotic special legislative sessions, where the Democrats fled to Washington in order to deny Gov. Abbott’s quorum, Beto O’Rourke, one of Texas brightest politicians, is visiting citizens around El Paso and helping them register to be able to vote in the next election.
In a tweet posted on Thursday afternoon, Beto commented on the more than 3 million unregistered voters all around Texas and called out for Texans to help to register eligible voters.
It is not clear yet if Beto will run next election against Greg Abbott, but he is one of the best possible candidates in the Democratic Party in Texas and is one of the best options against Abbott’s reelection. In the election of 2018, the former congressman of El Paso almost defeated incumbent Ted Cruz for the Senate, who is on the hot seat of the GOP after fleeing to Cancun during the winter storm of February.
