Sen. Ted Cruz said in the Texas Tribune festival that the only reason the Supreme Courts refuses to revisit Obergefell v. Hodges is because “arguably wreak havoc.” This is not a new opinion, as Cruz has repeatedly asked the Courts to revisit this case to target gay marrige
Cruz said in July that he thought the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling to legalize gay marriage was “clearly wrong,” and back in august, also said he will vote against a bill to codify same-sex marriage protections into federal law, ahead of a potential showdown in the Senate over one of the few remaining Democratic priorities expected to get a vote before the midterm elections.
Cruz argues that codifyng same sex marriage into federal law goes againts “religious liberties” and he thinks that these issue, as with abortion, should be left to te state legislatures.
