On Sunday five, a letter signed by 250 GOP donors that asked for more restrictive gun policies ran in a full page of ads in The Dallas Daily News.

Gun enthusiasts, some of them, donors of the Greg Abbott campaign, asked openly in a letter to implement red flag laws, expand background checks and raise the age to purchase a gun up to 25 years old.

The mass shooting in Robb Elementary School school at Uvalde impulsed these donors to write this letter in an attempt to prevent these tragedies They also thanked senator John Corryn for his efforts to regulate gun policies.

“We are grateful that our Senator John Cornyn is leading efforts to address the recent tragedies in Uvalde and elsewhere across our great Country,”

The letter was paid by Todd Maclin, the director of a Dallas Based Finance Firm. He describes himself as a conservative gun owner that realizes the magnitude of the problem and is speechless by what happened at Uvalde, according to The Texas Tribune.

“I just felt like I needed to do something, and I also believe that there are reasonable things that can be done.” He said.

Some strong supporters and big donors of Greg Abbott signed the letter. Including billionaires, Robert Rowling, whose holding company owns Omni Hotels, and Ray L. Hunt, executive chairman of Hunt Consolidated In. according to The Dallas Daily News.
