The First Lady of the US Visits Texas to Encourage COVID-19 Vaccination

As only 41% of Texas is fully vaccinated, on Tuesday, First Lady Jill Biden visited Texas and toured a vaccination center in Dallas with retired Dallas Cowboys player Emmitt Smith.

“Your lives matter to me and your president.”, the First Lady claimed at Emmett J. Conrad High School.

As part of a nationwide campaign by the Biden administration in order to achieve a 70% countrywide vaccination rate by July 4, Mrs. Biden and Doug Emhoff visited Texas in order to encourage vaccination. The first lady cited Texas’ low vaccination rate as one of the reasons for her visit.

“In the sports sense we’re in the fourth quarter, and the game is not finished,” retired football star Emmitt Smith told the group in Dallas. “We’re going to get a touchdown,” Jill Biden added.

Later that evening, Biden proceeded to Houston, where she was accompanied by Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff. The two went to a Houston Astros-sponsored immunization location and then to a Minute Maid Park Astros game, where they sat with military personnel and frontline workers.

There is plenty of work left in Texas, before the state can claim the pandemic is over.
